The model should be updated with actual quote conversion, gross margin by vendor, labor variance, inventory aging, and receivable timing every month. It should also stress-test a 10% sales shortfall, a five-point margin decline, a 30-day collection delay, and one large warranty replacement. That is the level of analysis needed to decide whether to hire, stock more product, open a showroom, accept a large rollout, or distribute cash to the owner.
The final decision is not whether digital displays are attractive products. It is whether the company can repeatedly convert technical selling into correctly scoped projects, collect deposits before committing cash, maintain blended margin near the high twenties or better, and create enough free cash after growth to compensate the owner. When those links are visible, expansion becomes a calculated choice rather than a bet on topline sales.
