Paper payback often looks faster than real payback because the model assumes full-scale subscriptions from month one. A more credible forecast phases subscriber growth, marketing spend, hiring, and supplier deposits month by month. It also models seasonality: holiday gifts can bring a cash spike, while summer heat or winter cold can increase packaging, delivery holds, and replacements.
Lenders will want supplier quotes, packaging-test results, cohort retention, monthly forecasts, and a downside case in which churn rises, freight increases by $3 per box, and replacements double. The downside must still protect payroll and prepaid-box fulfillment.
