A conventional high-erucic culinary product may be commercially familiar in other countries, but familiarity is not a U.S. compliance strategy.
A topical route avoids the edible-oil question but creates its own obligations. The model is complete only when every operating assumption changes cash flow, funding need, debt coverage, distributions, and payback. A business plan or financial model is useful because it forces those connections before money is committed.
For a new plant, update the model weekly during commissioning and monthly after operations stabilize. For an existing plant, compare actual yield, net price, labor hours, contribution margin, inventory days, and debt coverage against the original assumptions. Variance analysis often finds more value than another revenue forecast because it shows exactly where the economics drifted.
Practical one-liner: the model should tell management what to change next, not merely what profit looked like last month.
