Description

Keep business or personal contact records in one structured spreadsheet, with configurable categories and a consistent set of fields for names, relationships, companies, phone numbers, email addresses, and social IDs.

The workbook is designed for users who need a straightforward contact database rather than a customer relationship management system. Set up the list name and categories, then enter each contact in the Contacts table so key details can be viewed together and maintained in a uniform format.

Centralize contact details

Keep multiple contact fields together in one table instead of splitting phone numbers, email addresses, and relationship information across separate notes or files.

Group contacts by category

Use editable categories such as Work, Home, Personal, Family, or Services to organize the list around the way you actually use it.

Maintain a consistent record format

Capture the same core information for each person so the list is easier to review, update, and use for routine administrative reference.

What does this template help you organize?

The workbook focuses on contact administration: defining a simple category structure and then recording the details needed to identify and reach each person. It is useful when the main requirement is a clean, editable contact register rather than sales pipeline tracking or automated communication.

  • Assign each contact to a category so personal, family, work, service-provider, or other groups remain distinguishable within the same list.
  • Record first and last names together with a status or relationship field, allowing the list to carry context such as friend, colleague, family member, or other user-defined relationship.
  • Store a company name when the contact is connected with a business or organization.
  • Keep separate work, personal, and home phone fields so different telephone numbers are not compressed into one generic cell.
  • Record email and social ID details alongside the rest of the contact record for a more complete point of reference.

What is inside the workbook?

The visible workbook structure separates setup from day-to-day data entry. The Settings view is used to define the list context and categories, while the Contacts view is the working table where individual records are entered and maintained. The product preview also shows an in-workbook How To view with brief instructions for setup and contact entry.

Settings inputs

Enter an optional company or list name and define the category labels that will be used in the contact register.

Contacts table

Enter category, first name, last name, status, company, three phone fields, email, and social ID in a consistent row-based layout.

Editable list structure

The product preview shows blank rows beneath the sample contacts and workbook guidance for adding rows or columns when the list needs more space or another field.

General Settings sheet with company name and contact categories
The General Settings view provides a place to name the list or company and define the categories used to classify contacts.

Configure the list before entering records

The setup area keeps category definitions separate from the contact table itself. That makes it easier to establish a simple organizing scheme first and then apply those labels consistently as contacts are added.

The Contacts table brings category, identity, relationship, company, telephone, email, and social details into one row for each person.

Review the important details in one table

Each row acts as a single contact record. The layout is especially useful when a person has more than one telephone number or when business context, relationship information, and digital contact details need to remain visible together.

How do you use the template?

  1. Set the list context

Open the Settings view and enter the company or list name if you want that identifier shown in the workbook.

  2. Define your categories

Review the example categories and replace or extend them with labels that match how you want contacts grouped.

  3. Enter contact records

Add one person per row in the Contacts table, completing only the fields that are relevant to that contact.

  4. Maintain the register

Update rows as phone numbers, company associations, email addresses, or other contact details change, and add additional rows when the list grows.

Who is this template for?

This contact list spreadsheet is suitable for small-business owners, office administrators, clubs, households, and other users who need a practical record of people and their contact details. It works best for straightforward reference and recordkeeping needs where a categorized spreadsheet is sufficient; it is not presented as a CRM, messaging platform, or automated contact-management system.
