Price Volume Mix (PVM) Excel Dashboard
Explain the difference between planned and actual revenue with a focused Price Volume Mix Excel Dashboard. Select a reporting month, review the main revenue drivers and trace the result back to editable product quantities and selling prices.
See which drivers explain the gap
A positive total variance can contain an unfavorable mix effect or lost revenue from an exited product. The dashboard keeps these effects visible so the monthly conversation can focus on the products and decisions behind the result. Use it when reviewing pricing, sales performance, product mix or a monthly management report.
What is included
The editable workbook contains three sheets: Dashboard, Revenue bridge and Inputs. The sample covers 12 months and six SKUs, including a product launch and an exit. Four KPI cards show actual revenue, the revenue change, the price effect and the mix effect. Two native Excel charts show the selected-month effects and the annual revenue comparison.
How to use the dashboard
Set a whole reporting year, rename the sample SKUs if needed and replace the yellow quantities and prices. Choose the matching reporting month on Dashboard. Review the driver chart, then open Revenue bridge and Inputs to inspect the calculation behind each effect. Input messages identify missing values or ambiguous SKU names.
Understand the calculation basis
The price effect uses actual units of continuing products. Volume is measured using their planned mix and selling prices; mix captures changes in their unit proportions. Launches and exits are separate. These are revenue effects before product costs. Use comparable units within one analysis; separate product groups with incompatible unit measures.
